Adult Swim Team for Fun, Fitness, and (optional) Friendly Competition
 
Designed for adults who want to improve fitness and master proper stroke technique to become a faster and more efficient swimmer in a fun environment of encouragement and support.

Participants should be comfortable swimming at least a few hundred yards continuously using the freestyle (crawl) stroke. Experience with other competitive strokes is welcomed, but not required. All stroke techniques will be taught during the program. Competition is encouraged, and is available to those who wish to participate, but is not mandatory.

Special clinics (triathlon techniques, open-water swimming hints, starts & turns, nutrition, weight/strength training, flexibility, mental/motivational tips, etc.) will be held regularly at no additional charge for team members. There will also be optional social events, such as team parties and get-togethers. If you're interested, you'll also be able to find training partners from within the team for other sports such as running, biking, and skiing. Team members will also receive reminders, tips, and swimming news via email.

The Masters Swim Team is a year-round program which can be joined any time by signing up at the Front Desk at The Ridge. Membership is available on an annual or punch-card basis, with a pay-per-practice drop-in fee for those who aren't able to attend regularly. When you first sign up, you'll need valid ID (drivers license, etc.) to verify district residence, or you'll be charged non-district rates. After that, you'll be issued a Foothills ID card which will verify your residency & payment status.

It is strictly your choice whether to attend every practice, or only occasionally -- there is no attendance requirement. Fees are shown below. Membership includes access to Foothills facilities such as the weight room (across the street at The Peak), running track, cardio equipment, basketball courts, etc.

Practice schedule:
  • Monday thru Friday: 5:30am to 7:00am
    (Note: facility opens at 5:30am, with freeform warm-up from 5:30 until 5:45.)
  • Saturday: 7:30am to 9:00am (facility opens at 7:00am)
  • Sunday: 9:00am to 11:00am
    (Note: facility opens at 9:00am, with freeform warm-up from 9:00 until 9:15.)
All practices are at The Ridge facility pool. During the summers, we also encourage people to practice with the COMSA group at the Chatfield gravel pond.

NOTE: Certain practices may be pre-empted by other pool functions. Team members will be notified in advance via email, if possible.

If you plan to use the facility twice a week or more, the annual pass is your best option.
